Dimitri Foulquier (born in Sarcelles, Guadeloupe on March 23rd, 1993) is Valencia CF's latest summer signing. The defender has joined the club from Granada, reuniting with coach José Bordalás after the two previously coincided at Getafe CF. He comes to Mestalla to reinforce the defensive line with his experience and reliability.
His origins
Although he holds French nationality, Foulquier was born in Guadeloupe. This led him to playing games with the Guadeloupe national team at junior level, as his family is originally from the archipelago. However, he has been an international for France from Under-18 to Under-21 level, forming part of the side that won the Under-20s World Cup in 2013.

LaLiga experience
He is an experienced player in LaLiga. This will be the Frenchmans eighth full season playing in Spain at the highest level, with a total of 168 games to his name so far. He first joined Granada CF, then Getafe CF, returned to Granada CF and now comes to Mestalla to play for Valencia CF. He is 28 years old and in the prime of his career.

Reuniting with Bordalás
The defender will be reunited with José Bordalás, a coach under whom he demonstrated his best form to date. In the 2018/19 season he scored three goals and provided two assists in 25 games. This will be his second season under VCF coach and he will seek to exceed those numbers and contribute as much as possible to achieving the team's objectives.
